Adventures in numb4rland

1,000 hand-numbered double-CDs curated by Alan Dunn, mastered by Michael Ward, designed by Olivia McCarthy and Dane Chadwick

cantaudio034, March 2012, Liverpool-Leeds, artists' uses of the number 4

The seventh CD in the series takes inspiration from Alex Bellos' 'Adventures in numberland' and explores creatives uses of - and reliance on - 4. From the room to the door to the building to the screen to the sheet of paper, through the four seasons, four subtly underpins much of what we percieve. The two CDs walk a square room from corner to corner of 4th July, four-minute warnings, four tops, tetraphobia, 4am, 4 poems, four seasons, 4x4, four horsemen, 4pm, Clough's 44, 433, pas de quatre, vier, four minutes, four seconds, 4 inches, The Ramones, four-eyes, fab four, forty-years, Howlin' Wolf's 44 and World War Four.

In homage to Bill Drummond's 45. All copies are free, please contact Alan Dunn on a.dunn@leedsmet.ac.uk.
