TOP TEN, FRAC Normandie, Caen, December2024 At the invitation of David Michael Clarke and FRAC, we present an exhibition of the TOP TEN and ZERO PLAN zines, with contextual material and opening night discussion and rendition of Forbidden Colours at the very moment the French Government collapses. TOP TEN is the presentation of two sets of artists' zines curated by Alan Dunn, TOP TEN invited artists to select their most important track of all time and create a zine around a new 5" record, pressed on the Japanese Gakken record machine. The other zine, ZERO PLAN focusses on Dunn's never-ending project that involves buying copies of the 1983 No Parlez LP as an act of futile resistance in support of small record and charity shops.
And along the walls, some of David's eaerlier soundworks, a beautiful 5" record from Joël Hubaut and a selection of influntial records/sleeves, including
Adam & The Ants, Japan, Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence, The Soup Dragons, Strawberry Switchblade and David Shrigley.
