It starts with the discovery of Stockhausen's helikopter-streichquartett recording from 1995 (WDR). everything you hope from... is the space between the anticipated sound that you hope for in an unheard piece of music and the actuality.

everything you hope from... was begun the day after purchasing helikopter-streichquartett and includes excerpts from Guided by Voices' everywhere with helicopter of 2002 (Matador Records).

Tracks 3-6 are built around Mick Harvey's full-blooded intro to The Birthday Party's sonny's burning (4AD, 1983), the post-'Temptation' drum sound of New Order's blue monday from the same year (Factory) and the mid-eighties Spectorisms of The Jesus & Mary Chain's just like honey (WEA) and use field recordings made from a Pontefract to Scarborough flight on 24th January 2003.

Everything you hope from, return is a 12m11s piece, taking the total running time to approximately the same as Stockhausen's piece, and features the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' police helicopter (EMI, 1984) and two early Human League tracks, the circus of dr.lao and year of the jet packs from 1977/78 (Black Melody).
