On Sunday 15th June 2008, around 1,500 people walked throught the Mersey Tunnel, from Liverpool to Birkenhead. Each person was issued beforehand
with a number between 2 (Phil Redmond was number 1) and 25,000. Travelling over to the start point by
train, I noticed that the lady in front had the number 433. Alighting at Lime Street, I saw her again at the bottom
of William Brown Street and asked if she'd mind swopping her number for mine, with the added bonus of a 'Soundtrack For
A Mersey Tunnel' CD that I had with me. I then walked the
tunnel with my family, wearing 433.
